Figure 2-13-Generalist FTE Contribution of PAs and NPs to Care, Washington State, 1997

Two pie charts show percentage of FTE generalist care contributed by family/general practice physicians, general internists, generalist pediatricians, general nurse practitioners and general physician assistants in rural and rural areas. General physicians provide 59 percent of FTE care in rural areas and 74 percent of FTE care in urban areas. General nurse practitioners provide 15 percent of FTE care in rural areas and 16 percent in urban areas. General physician assistants provide 16 percent of FTE care in rural areas and 10 percent in urban areas. A bar graph shows that urban populations receive 79.6 percent of FTE generalist care overall and rural populations receive 20.4 percent.
