Figure 7-Underrepresented Minority Students and Faculty in Allopathic Medical Schools

This bar graph compares the percentage of minority URM students to minority URM faculty in 1975, 1980, 1990 and 1995. In 1975, 8.1% of the student body was minority with a minority faculty of 2.7%. In 1980, 8% of the student body was minority with a minority faculty of 2.7%. In 1990, 9.3% of the student body was minority with a minority faculty of 3.3%. However, in 1995 the difference had grown with an increase of minority students to 11.4% but a minority faculty of only 3.8%.
