Figure 4-Per Capita Health Spending, 1989

This bar graph shows the United States as having alarmingly high ($2,354) per capita expenditures in dollars compared with other countries worldwide. Canada had the second largest health per capita expenditures. Switzerland and Sweden had the third and fourth largest per capita expenditures, respectively. Greece had the smallest per capita health expenditures. Per capita spending for the United States was 40% higher than spending for Canada.
